The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) is a Learned Society whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. The Society provides a forum for the exchange of technical information and experience through formal publications and lectures as well as social interaction between members. It particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in this field. As a Learned Society, SCTE is able to provide broadband industry accreditation and certification for its members, giving them professional standing within the industry.

Meet senior decision-makers, operators, industry experts, manufacturers and broadband/cable engineers/technicians at the SCTE’s (Society for Broadband Professionals) 2013 Balkan Broadband conference and exhibition on 3 October 2013 at the Westin Zagreb, Croatia.

The event format includes a morning conference with Keynote presentations from government officials and key Balkan cable operators on broadband operations and strategy. This is followed by a networking lunch in the exhibition hall and the exhibition remains open for the remainder of the afternoon.

The SCTE’s fifth Balkan Broadband Conference will offer top-level Keynote speakers and exhibition floors where investors, operators, technicians and installers ‘Meet & Greet’ the international exhibitors. Last year’s Balkan Broadband conference and exhibition attracted 400 visitors and 30 exhibitors. SCTE has a strong membership in the Balkans and has already held conferences and exhibitions in a number of Balkan countries.

SCTE training courses in the Balkans have netted the Society many new members and a reputation as a leading broadband trainer in the region. Croatia is set to join the EU later this year and there are many exciting opportunities in this region which hosts many cable operators.
