Melissa Cogavin Joins the SCTE

The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) welcomes the recent appointment of Melissa Cogavin as its managing editor.

melissa cogavin smallMelissa has two decades of experience in the UK film industry, most recently as a consultant. She is also a writer and editor with experience of creating innovative content and in-depth marketing plans. She founded and grew a membership organisation to promote Event Cinema, working with leading entertainment chains and international brands. She has also created an independent guide to best practice, the Technical Delivery Handbook, for the film industry supply chain.

Melissa succeeds Sara Waddington who, after twelve years, leaves the SCTE at the end of the year to pursue new challenges. Both will work together to ensure a smooth handover of SCTE projects and publications for the remainder of this year.

“I am delighted to be joining the team at the SCTE as managing editor. The role brings the dual rewards of editing and writing within the framework of a membership organisation, which I love. With 5G around the corner, it is also an exciting time to be entering the broadband industry so it’s a privilege to be part of a Learned Society with such a long history and impressive reputation,” commented Melissa Cogavin.

SCTE CEO, Dr. Roger Blakeway, added: “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with Sara over the last twelve years and we all wish her well in her new ventures. Melissa comes to us with impeccable qualifications and we are looking forward to the new insights and contributions that she will bring to the Society as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary Year.”
